While we were brainstorming ideas, a few of us came up with different storyboards for how our 15 second video would go. Below is the one I created:

We ended up taking elements from each one and merged them into our final animatic.
While our other 2D animators were focused on animating our protagonist, I created the eye portal that ‘blink’ would fly out from!

Our stop motion puppet has a green face on screen so that we could add the faces to our animation in Unreal, which is much easier than changing out the face with each frame.
I drew multiple options for the faces and we went with just 3 as it’s a very short animation and we’d need to keep it simple.

Blink Studio Visit!

This studio visit was the first studio I’d ever been in! For me the most interesting part of the visit was seeing the layout of the place and how everyone worked there. It seemed like a very chill and friendly enviroment! Despite this I was still intimidated, but that could have just been nerves since we were about to present our project!
We talked through our slides and screened our final product, it was great to see reactions and answer any questions.
And of course I brought my puppet in with us! It sat on a chair infront and I did a little demo of how it moves. It was funny to hear the reactions as I span it around hahaha.
