Below are some of my very first sketches!! My mind immediately went to the two characters that work in the scene – the scientists. I wanted them to have opposite personalities, but still a little crazy or strange as they work in a shady, suspicious environment.

^ I found this quick sketch I did quite silly but, Isobel stated it was actually a great way of showing their personalities and dynamic, and that I should draw more examples of them in action.

^ here I am trying to illustrate their dynamic again. Scientist 1 is a bit mad and is about to do something careless so, scientist 2 is right behind them holding them back but still in a calm reserved manner.

I decided on making the main playable character a child/teen in order to contrast the two scientists and so they stand out from them.
Initial MC sketches:

^ In the corner it reads “Experiments made her superhuman. Smart without trying. Picks up instruments like it’s nothing. Everyone thinks she’s just good at everything – a prodigy. But she randomly ‘malfunctions’.”

I had also received feedback on the main characters proportions. Isobel stated that her limbs and proportions were too long and skinny making her look super tall, despite being a young teen. I then changed her proportions to fix this.
